Skraggles the Cat

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

So if anyone remembers when I found those kittens in the trash can (click) you’d know that I’ve been looking after the momma cat, Skraggles, since we moved into this apartment. Welp, thanks to the very generous faculty members and advice from Kitten Rescue (HUUUUGE thank you Sue and Ben especially), Skraggles is now doing really well and looks healthier than I’ve ever seen her. I’m still amazed at how she created some beautiful babies and every now and then I find myself thinking about them. I think the father (big friendly orange guy…I call him Big Daddy) lives down the street from us. He looks like he has an owner so I HOPE they got him fixed by now!

So anyways, back to Skrags. Her mange looks to be completely gone – her fur has magically transformed from this balding, matty, coarse mess into healthy, fuzzy, soft fur! With a beautiful pattern too…she looks a lot like the little girl kitty she had. Her bald spots are growing in. Since I got her fixed she’s been acting much differently than before…in a very positive way! She seems to have a lot more energy and when I go on my nightly walks she tags along with me.

It’s really cute. She’s a good cat.

I never thought I would actually call Skraggles ‘cute‘ before now.

The sad thing is that after she was fixed they somehow figured out her age (I have no idea how they can do that) and told me that she was somewhere between 1 – 2 years of age.

Damn.

This cat has been through hell and back in such a short amount of time. The good thing is that now she’s got a whole life of freedom ahead of her…And if we ever move from this area I’m taking her with us to live in whatever neighborhood we end up in.

Check out this awesome art she did. Her style is amazing. It’ll be used on the Recropets site whenever I get it to look less embarrassing….eeeecckkk…I need to get on that.

So with the completion of the awesome Mao Munch game that Mike and I finally finished we’re now in the works of a NEW and even BETTER flash game! I am super motivated and started on some of the sprites and background. Wanna know what the game is? Here’s a hint;

Costumes for your Cat

So the other night before we all went to see Scott Pilgrim (again) we checked out this crazy $1 bookstore that was going out of business or switching over to a different store for the holidays. I’m not really sure but we were bored and needed to kill some time. I found this horror in a big cardboard box;

Costumes for your Cat. That’s right. Let’s take a gander inside…if you dare.

Notice that I’ve left the resolution big enough so you can zoom in and read the pages yourself if you need to…although I think these paragraphs kind of say it all. Just be prepared for some instigating animal cruelty.

Prep work for your cat!

The instructions on how to make the badge for the CHiPS cat crack me up.

I’m pretty sure there isn’t anyone in the world that would be ok with getting wet cotton candy stuck on top of their head…let alone a cat.

…Who does this?

This one is by far the greatest.

I think the picture for this one is on the cover. Look for the cat with balloons for paws.

Well I GUESS that makes sense. How else are you supposed to get a cat to play the harmonica?

This one…they didn’t even try. Yeah, just stick tape all over your cat like a big furry disco ball. Your cat will be cool with that.

Big finale.

Don’t ever do this to your cat. The end.
