Ok, so we just got home REALLY early this morning, my legs are wobbling, and feet are just dead. A lot happened. It was the best time I’ve had in years.
So how the hell can I sum up the amazing weekend I had at Comicon? Here, lemme try; The first amazing story I have to share is when Edgar Write got us into the world premiere of Scott Pilgrim. Yeah, that’s right – EDGAR WRITE, THE DIRECTOR OF SCOTT PILGRIM AND CREATOR OF AMAZING MOVIES LIKE SHAWN OF THE DEAD GOT US INTO HIS MOVIE. He is a very short man, especially next to me. Here’s the story – Fernando was trying to get us some pins that would get us into the movie, but he couldn’t find anymore. They were super limited. As we’re walking away from the theater we see Edgar Wright just kinda chilling out and Fernando, in his amazing Gideon cosplay, starts talking to him and explains our situation. Then, basically, he very kindly and personally got us into the movie. 
When Scott Pilgrim comes out in theaters, you all need to rush to the theater and watch it because it really is THE MOST INCREDIBLY MOVIE EVER MADE. No spoilers. After the movie the whole cast came out onto the stage to show a little face and left. Skraggy and Fernando got autographs.
I met Adam Phillips, creator of the brilliant series Bitey of Brackenwood. Super nice guy with a very sexy accent. Hopefully he didn’t think I was too much of a bitch for playing up Tomar, but they traded business cards….so I guess, mission successful!
I met Tom, creator of Newgrounds, and he was just as sweet and adorable as everyone claims. Actually, it’s thanks to him we even got into the con! Turns out he had bought us a couple passes and forgot to tell us! It was quite the pleasant surprise since our original plan was to go to the San Diego zoo while everyone had fun at the con – FUCK THAT! The con was amazing! I’ve never been in such a large building before and it made me feel very tiny..and a little dizzy. We had a blast with Hans and Swain playing Russian Roulette (with an iphone app, mom) at their hotel room. They
were VERY drunk and kept adding crazy and complicated rules to make the game last longer, stressful, and intense…like having your neighbor shoot you and have them pick where they shoot you. Notice how Mike is being shot in the mouth and Hans is in the background making everything as serious as 
possible. I never knew dieing could be SO FUN! I won twice somehow…which is odd because I never win at anything. Meanwhile, Swain and Hans harass Luis in his sleep by stealing his covers and jumping into bed naked with him while getting everything on camera. Yeah, I just said that. So I had to fly in there and save him like the Supa’ Jaxxy I am. Whatever, I’m a dork.
There were lots of famous people inside and outside the convention center. I saw Paul Sheer running up and down the street on his cell phone…but who cares about that when I met Maddox, creator of the Best Page in the Universe, on the last day we were in the con…which was a dream come true. I am such a little fangirl for my nostalgic jr. high idols. Turns out he’s a really fucking nice man! He gave this alien the finger, gave me one 
of his posters for free, and let me snap a picture with him. I make it sound like he saved me from certain doom, but shut up. I’m allowed to be a fan girl sometimes.
Before we went home, we realized out passes still had a full day left on them. That night we met up at a Starbucks where Swain got to talking to one of the cute girls behind the counter. She was sad she was missing out on all the fun at Comicon, so we traded her our passes for some delicious Starbucks pastry goods. Food is always considered valued currency in my world. They were great for the two our ride home too.
SO NOW I’M BACK HOME IN MY BORING ASS APPARTMENT IN BURBANK. Nah, it’s all good, I missed this place dearly. This coming week is Siggraph, so I gotta get busy and prepare my shit for that. What a busy month. I gotta get to some animating and finish up Sergio and Bear!
