Welp, the game jam is over. It was fun (and stressful) while it lasted! I got to meet some talented guys and I had a great team…though, I’m still catching up on missed sleep. What the heck is Game Jam? It’s a contest to see who can make the best game in 72 hours. All attendees are split up into groups of 4. Our team was Team Penguin and comprised of a programmer (prettymuchbryce), a musician (realfaction), and 2 artists (myself and LDAF). Our project was pretty ambitious for a 72 hour game (not to mention with a boss battle) and we ran into plenty of problems, but we can at least say we finished Dravalanche considering there were a lot of drop outs in the contest. I’ve got my money set on Bear Bound winning this game jam.
I’m considering posting up my assets for anyone who wants to play around with a digging-type game since a lot of the stuff I made was never used and most of it was experimental.
I’ll be posting Sergio ‘n Bear sometime within the month…as soon as Tomar finishes up some of the action script and we get the audio syncing down. We’ve got a couple trips planned this month, appointments, games, movies…My neighbor is officially moving down south and I might be helping her out with that. It’s so sad saying goodbye but I hope I get to see her frequently. A lot is happening in 2011 already and it’s just started.
